DOJ is simply Trump’s defense team. Vance is fine with neo-Nazis as allies. Bari Weiss is running CBS on behalf of Team Trump. Trump’s renewing his attack on our NATO ally Denmark. Witkoff basically works for Putin. But at least Elise Stefanik has failed—for now.

The segment seems to contradict Bari’s assertion that the Trump administration didn’t respond to request for comment. Per the report, 60 Minutes reached out to DHS who declined a request for an interview and referred all questions about CECOT to El Salvador.

"We need to be able to make every effort to get the principals on the record and on camera."

Bizarre. If you offer officials the chance to speak on camera and they decline, it isn't your job to hold a critical story until they change their minds. The right of reply is not a right to delay.
Weiss concluded: “We need to be able to make every effort to get the principals on the record and on camera. To me, our viewers come first, not a listing schedule or anything else. And that is my North Star, and I hope it's the North Star of every person in this newsroom.”

Cully Stimson is one of the few people who *didn’t* resign from the Heritage Foundation today. He now heads up their legal division.

In 2007, Stimson had to resign from the Pentagon after threatening law firms with retaliation for representing Gitmo prisoners pro bono.

How quaint!

The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

You’re joking, right? Vance sides with the bigotry. He’s been pushing blatant white nationalism in public for years, and it’s accelerated recently. His whole pitch is he’s more directly bigoted than Trump.

This might be even worse than the infamous article saying Elon Musk’s politics are a mystery.
