Anyone who says that travel will take longer if the road is shrunken hasn’t done the math. The road was out of commission for six hours today.

This happened at Broderick and Lombard Streets in San Francisco on the morning of 11/18/25.
Lombard Street is a surface level highway in the neighborhood of Cow Hollow. It is maintained by Caltrans and they should have put it on a diet ages ago.

Thank you for following up on this. I do appreciate it. MacArthur seems like a pretty busy station to not have monitors on the concourse. Could we repurpose some electronic highway construction signs??

I’m wondering if it was on the alt-track and I didn’t see it. I recently moved to Oakland after 25 years in SF. I’m a bike + transit fanatic. It shouldn’t be that easy to make the mistake. Also why aren’t there any timed signs in the concourses? If this were 🇨🇭or🇯🇵 it’s on us, but it’s definitely not.

It looks like the 7:42 🟨 did not happen yesterday…or it was delayed until the same as the 7:50 🟥

The 7:44 Orange line did happen as I remember it waiting awhile in the station - I guess for a timed transfer. Tho it doesn’t count since 🟧doesn’t go to SF.

Could you look earlier? My post was going through as I boarded. Checking my path, Google Maps has me at MacArthur 7:34-7:51. My Clipper doesn’t show the tag on time, but I tagged out at 16th & Mission at 8:17 am.

I was very surprised and would love to know that this was a fluke.

Must see 🐥 🐥 next time. And correction: cats are typically available during our episodes. 😸😸

Build. More. Protected. Bike lanes. That’s something that we should induce demand for the world over.

Cameras should be the backstop to road redesign. Here they are all we can hope for.

I hear you, but it doesn’t snow in the Bay Area. Also speed bumps are the lowest form of traffic calming. Plantings are where it’s at.

Well in my case they crossed right over the bright green, parking protected bike lane to get to a parking lot. It doesn’t matter what you do. Car drivers need to not injure and kill. Period.

Now let me tell you about the drivers…
