It took some time after the pandemic to return to the levels we had, but in the last couple of years we are again growing. Next year will present some challenges with a significant cut in our funding from the City of Winnipeg. Next year is also the 20th anniversary of the first Bike to Work Day.

And just think that if we built a network safe and comfortable for seniors how great it would be for everyone. 8 to 80!

Why not just make changes to all school zones. All kids deserve safety around their schools. As @emmaewood.bsky.social indicates its a good start, but much more needs be done to make all residential streets safe & it starts with changing the default speed limit to 30 kph. @safespeedswpg.bsky.social

We encourage @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social to show similar courage and implement a 30 kph residential speed limit in our city. If 30 kph is safe for school zones it is what is safe for all areas where we live and play.

The irony is painful: A bike event about the climate crisis was canceled by the climate crisis. We can’t afford more delays—our leaders must act now. #wpgpoli
