For those in it/ How do you think about the experience of this intense heatwave? For me, it feels like I’m waiting, a bit claustrophobic.

Protests irritate those in power, who seek to contain and shrink the spaces, and expressions of dissent. We must stop this City bylaw, limiting the location of protest, when it is clear what is being debated. shorturl.at/NLeAk

I hope more universities do this (in the US especially, but also Canada -- our students and faculty may need assistance as well!)
As it became clear that the State Department and ICE were targeting students for their lawful political speech, our dean worked with university leadership and our clinical program to establish a rapid response project for students threatened with detention or deportation.

The detention and attempted deportation of Khalil is a test by Trump to see how far he can go—and a test for us to see how hard we will fight back.

A mensch. RIP Michael Burawoy
I will always remember him as the 1st professor to show up at the barricades & the last to leave whenever there was a student protest on campus. Here he is on the steps of Wheeler Hall lecturing on Foucault as students chained themselves to the roof protesting austerity. 📸 @zunguzungu.bsky.social
