Great day for democracy. 👍

Just wild to see how certain people have to go to great lengths not only to "sell" these types of products, but to actually consume them? Must have been dialing up room service way too much while on the road for so long.

Unless I am missing something, but fans generally know of certain players that receive NIL money. Thousands of athletes have taken full advantage with appearing in commercials, podcasts, and some cases conducting clinics for young kids. Generally speaking, schools don't release full NIL stats.

ND alums Jessica Smetana and Mike Golic, Jr. were joined by Fighting Irish AD Pete Bevacqua and basically explained the same things on why the Irish were snubbed:

Exactly what we need to see and read. 👍

I wonder what that increase can be attributed to. Oh, I think I know—it’s Amazon and the younger audiences watching more than TNT.

Besides CNN, there are some other legacy cable outlets that might be on virtual life support by late 2026.

That's exactly what happens when schools feel entitled. "We should be in every year, even if we lost the first 2 games." It doesn't work that way--with so few slots available, some school was on the outside and Notre Dame was listed as the first team out. Unless I am missing something--what is it?

Netflix is competing with YouTube and other streamers. Paramount is competing against a stacked deck and a lot of debt. The difference is as clear as day.

Basketball does it right, one ranking show 5 to 6 weeks before the draw. There is never a perfect system, but is there a better way to tweak the metrics so that the best teams and the most deserving should get their “flowers”. Otherwise, it’s just hot air.

I feel like they are entitled, that’s one thing. Plus, every home game NBC has aired since 1991. There are more options to consume our entertainment dollars on fall Saturday afternoons, unlike in the 1980’s and before.

This is a game changer, but on a much larger scale than when cable was at its peak.

First time rule that any player who has five or fewer votes will not be eligible the next time their era is considered. They can be nominated again in 2031. If they fall short of five votes again, they will not be eligible for future consideration. Meaning--nice knowing you. Bye, bye forever.
December 8, 2025 at 4:32 AM
I found this rule to be interesting--with Bonds, Clemens, Sheffield, and Valenzuela (RIP) falling way short:
Candidates who received fewer than five votes in this election are not eligible for consideration by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee in 2028.

Speaking of being "entitled", Notre Dame fits that label perfectly.🤮 The argument of "It's our way or the highway" doesn't always work. If not, their night games will always end up leading fans to SNL in rather awkward fashion.
As they always say, misery loves company.

Say good bye to these "consolation games", that are mostly meant simply to fill up ESPN's airwaves when basketball takes off during the semester break. Only fitting to see the Pop Tart go into the toaster--thanks mostly to NIL.
I guess we won't be seeing the Super Friends/Wheel of Fortune Bowl 😂🤣

Poor Virginia.

Most things equal, someone had to be left out. If this was a 16 team playoff, ND would have had the final at-large spot and maybe Miami would have been left out. What criteria does the committee know that we as fans don't know?
