Someone has to make the first move toward peace and that must be the colonial powers. If they actually help build Palestine the Palestinian people will support it. It doesn’t make up for past atrocities but it would signal that the attempt to erase the Palestinian people is over.

What does this mean? You just voted to condemn socialism. Socialism is Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Socialism is government coming down on the side of unions and making the 1% share their wealth with those who built it for them. Socialism is standing up for regular people everywhere.

It’s absolutely essential to raise revenue to deliver for the people and show that government can work. Anyone who says otherwise need only look where the country is now: crumbling public services and an angry and rising far-right.

I think things are better since the ceasefire. Certainly Israel continues to violate the ceasefire. The World Food Program has brought in 40,000 tons of food since the ceasefire began.

There are two problems with our approach: We can’t defeat things that can’t be defeated, and we can’t use violence against things that can’t be defeated without normalizing violence.

Belgium doesn’t want to seize Putin’s money. UK granted itself a waive to continue doing business with Russian oil companies. Germany wants to put a Ukrainian on trial for blowing up Nordstream. What is Europe going to do to put Ukraine in position to make the demands Europe says they should make?

There may be an extension of some of the enhanced subsidies but Republicans will demand something in return. We have to see the final package before we declare victory.

I think the argument he’s trying to make, and he’s not being clear about it, is that this was a deep state leak. But it could also have been a Russian leak (my bet) or another country that has compromised our secure communications.

Trump is turning this negotiation over to Witkoff and Kushner because neither Rubio nor Vance wants to own what is likely to be a very bad deal.

This small number of people can’t swing the election (which is rigged anyway) but I guess it removes one possible criticism of the inevitable result.

No one’s looking at these deals anymore to make sure they’re in the public interest and I suspect most of them are not.
