61 years of age. Drummer, drinker, dreamer, thinker. A curious individual who is a passionate supporter of Scottish independence . I have lived in Cumbernauld all my life which has made me the man I am today. May it hang it’s head in shame.

With the longer days in mind, I always feel a new season arrives just at the point that I’m completely fed up with the present one. It’s almost as if it’s set up that way.

Remember the clocks go forward this weekend meaning the return of light nights. I say remember but these days it’s mostly done for us. In the auld days it was a great excuse to be an hour late for work, another negative aspect of modern technology.

My wife bought this humongous light shade for our bedroom which is next to my side of the bed. I’m 61, so when I inevitably have to go for a pee in the dark I hit my head off it every time without fail. I’m sure I can hear her stifling a giggle when it happens.

I would like to say, regarding my last post, I have nothing against Edinburgh. It’s just not for Weedgies.

I was in Edinburgh yesterday, spent most of the time making sure I wasn’t walking on a cycle lane or a tram line. Had people walk in front of me more than once causing me to stop abruptly then looking at me as if it was my fault. Got the bus back to Glasgow and never felt more at home.

4 o’clock in the morning, been awake since half 2. The latest sleep preventing conundrum my brain has presented
Is “Why have I never had faith in the ability of pilots, bus drivers and train drivers?” I think I’m a control freak.

I rustled up a wee chicken chow mein tonight, put it on the table ready for my wife coming home from work, I didn’t want to ask for the praise I was justifiably due, so I waited. She finished and said “That was awright” Mission accomplished.

My intention tonight was to have a wee quiet night watching the telly. Then I spotted a bottle of Baileys in the drinks cupboard. Now I’m watching Limmy on YouTube and giggling like wee lassie.

Favourite show on tv? Mine is the repair shop, all positive human emotion lives there.

I’m 60 now and have been playing drums in the same band for 39 years. I cannot convey enough how much joy and excitement this has injected into my life. I implore all people who have some sort of influence over kids to introduce them to musical instruments, they’ll find the one for them.

I’m trying to find a good spa hotel in Scotland, preferably no further north than say, Blair Atholl. It’s for her birthday and I would like there to be massage, wellness treatments, that kind of thing available. Any recommendations?

My wife tuts when people cry on TV. This is disturbing to me, but I also secretly admire her cynicism.

My daughters set up our Alexa to give out weather reports and won’t tell us how to cancel it. Now we can’t stop hearing that rain is expected in Cumbernauld village. Hey Alexa, I’ve lived in Cumbernauld all my life, I constantly expect rain. And I don’t live in the village btw.

Grenfell: This call to LBC at the time is heart wrenching (45:08)
The bastards who are complicit in this horrible event should be in the courts now, not in 18 months time.

I love a sausage, a cooperative sausage,
Tho’ ye cannae get near it fur the smell,
When ye fry it wi’ an ingin,
Ye’ll hear the ingin singing,
“Mary, ma Scot’s bluebell!”

Universal basic income seems to improve employment and well-being
Finland’s two-year test of universal basic income has concluded that it doesn't seem to disincentivise working, and improves recipients’ mental and financial well-being

Autumn is subtly introducing itself, and I’m glad of its arrival. Summer was a let down.

My wife and daughter have been away to Italy all week leaving me and the cat at home. The cat has refused to come into the house for the last 6 days, I’ve had to leave food out in the garden. There is something profoundly disturbing about an animal thinking you’re a prick.
