My favorite gender of airplane is shitty propeller based missile truck that would get mulched in five seconds by the presence of competent AA and cost less to build than its payload.

Anyways, beloved.

Skwiggview: Speed Racer

The Wachowski's described this as car-fu and uh yeah, it rules! I love the movies, I love my silly, I love my cars, I love my art, I love my zany bullshit, I love my peem. Deserves the re-appreciation it's been getting 100 fold.

Skwiggview: Chaos: Making a New Science

Eh, it's fine. Overall, helps illustrate how properly trying to deal with non-linearity helped shake up scientific thinking and was enabled by computer-based visualizations but doesn't really converge to a satisfying thesis. Less than sum of its parts.

Skwiggview: Stop Making Sense

Music is surely the closest thing we have to a channel to the divine, to have been on that stage was a transcendent experience. Behold, the power of JAM.

9/10, banger.

Skwiggview: The Vast of Night

Really really solid micro-budget thriller. Put's every dollar to great use with intelligent direction and fantastic leads. A masterclass in show don't tell and creating an atmosphere. Good for general audiences and sci-fi fans alike.

Skwiggview: Children of Time

It's fine, borders on good. The human plot is fairly stock and uninteresting. The spiders on the other hand have great alt-history, alt tech tree shenanigans, and weird gender politics that are like candy to my brain. It's fine on on it's own but there's another thing..

Skwiggview: Critical Mass

Man, it sucks when you're really digging something and then sour on it big time near the end. Overstuffed and undercooked, it reads more like a pitch deck for space VCs than a story. As literature, the characters and dialogue have gotten worse and more repetitive.

Skwiggview: Delta-V

This is a comfort food book. Not particularly challenging and workmanlike in its prose, plots, and characters. Isn't high art but entertained me enough to stick with it. I'm mainly here for the asteroid mining tech porn though and in that regard, it's licentious.

In short, slavery is this country's original sin and for a moment, the north did ,haltingly, try to repent and repair the damage. The inability to commit to full egalitarianism and to abolish the planter class damned that effort and has damned this country ever since.

Skwiggview: Black Reconstruction in America

The definitive history of reconstruction, Du bois magnum-opus, and a 730 page doorstopper. Completely reframes the ante-bellum period and how we should view the civil war and it's consequences. Some key take aways.

Playing around with anthro fox/canine heads, heavily inspired by this build: www.flickr.com/photos/12715...

I've wanted to make a figure out of the creator 3-in-1 fox set for a bit but the scale for that will be daunting engineering wise. So, gonna start smaller.

Skwiggview: Redline

One of my all time favorite movies, has left an indelible impact on my life. Have rewatched it countless time and will watch it countless more. There is nothing else like it; it will leave you gasping and craving a sloppy disgusting cigarette.

Skwiggview: Char's Counter-attack

Char is a sopping wet creature, god's most hollow and spent man. Fuck gravity, legacy weighed this dude's soul down from the jump, he never had a shot.

The animation is great too, excellent tactile feeling on everything. Jegan is best grunt

Fuck Char/10

Skwiggview: Warriors of Virtue

High end Disney channel original or stock-standard isekai?

Both, but the psychotic choreography kind of makes it at least slightly interesting. Not worth watching but it made it slightly more enjoyable.

I wish I had a tail like that, 3/10.

Skwiggview: Short Peace

Solidly mixed bag. Possessions is great, Combustible is visually interesting but meh story, Gambo is dreadful, farewell to weapons is a visual feast/highlight but is frustrating near the end.

Good way to kill an hour. 7/10

It also comes in anti-infantry flavor (the arms guns have flexible hero factory tubing for ammo belts that route into the backpack, stud.io doesn't let me render that though)

It's slightly larger than minifig scale because I wanted it to be able to hold a fig (and not break if you breathed on it)! The backpack has space for two extra rifle drums.

Roland: Second to none

Here's what I've been cooking, an almost minifig scale version of @lunarstargaze.bsky.social's Roland Mech aka a Bradley on legs. It's been on my to-do list for a while and I'm psyched with how it turned out! More renders below.
