I’m on to immortal dark by Tigest Girma. I know very little about it except it’s a vampire novel by and for Black folks. I haven’t read vampire centered stuff in a while and I’m looking forward to diving back in. Early on it seems like this book has a sense of fun. #booksky

I’m locked in with this series, just finished the second book. I find the pacing really nice, which I know seems like a BS compliment but it really really matters to me in terms of my enjoyment of a novel #booksky

Happy Valentine’s Day. In this book they kept saying the MMC had hard smooth flesh like marble and I pictured him as Michelangelo’s David the whole time because of it. This was not a dealbreaker for me, I fear.

DELIGHTFUL. This is maybe not for more sensitive kids as it has some real violence in it and one character dies. But for an adult living in today’s horrors it was light and fluffy and often funny and charming

I suspect that 2025 like 2024 will be a Kingfisher heavy year for me. I’m reading Thorn Hedge, which is gliding over me so far with T. Kingfisher’s characteristic silkiness.

I’m now reading this one which reminds me of Agatha Christie’s work a bit. As always, kingfisher doesn’t miss. The sorceress in question is vile, cruel, and hard hearted. The cowering daughter barely dreaming to escape is the main character.
