Picked up the latest katamari game. Once upon a katamari is the first game in more years than i want to say. The games are arcady puzzle games that see you rolling a sticky ball around getting bigger and bigger as you roll. its the music and artistic vibes of the game that i love

361. Pusher 2 - crime thriller sequel, a supporting character from the 1st being the main in this film. After being released from prison an untrustworthy guy tries to find a footing but being a possible father makes it hard. Better than the 1st film for me, both are great

359. The town that dreaded sundown (1976) - based on the true events about a masked man who assaults and kills woman in a small town in the 40s. The film is a mix of slasher style horror & police procedural. Its an odd mix and the comedy from the police is really jarring. Just ok

339-358. Alan clarke BBC filmography - should have done these individual but consistently powerful and political. The works make you think, from “to encourage others” to “pendas fen”, “scum” to “elephant” & “the firm”. Often excellent work, the common critique is films endings

338. Ms.45 - bleak revenge thriller, after a mute woman is raped she then falls into spiral of fear, pain and paranoia. A dark and dirty NYC is the backdrop to one of the more classy rape revenge films that show the fear of women and predatory men

337. Space truckers - from the director of re-animator comes a sci-fi comedy about truckers but in space. A fun cast and some practical effects are good but it just doesn’t hit the mark for me. Talent in front and behind the camera and its film that doesn’t land for me

Picked up this years MCU films. Over Christmas i usually rewatch the years MCU films with the family so iam now prepared for this year. What do you think to the output? For me 2/3rds are solid at least, thunderbolts is a really great film for me.

336. Galaxy quest - sci-fi comedy about a group of washed up actors who were on a star trek style show in the 80s, aliens ask for help when they think the show was real. An excellent look at fandom, it clearly loves its subject matter. The cast is amazing, Tim allen is ok too

335. An inspector calls - social drama, a affluent family is visited by an inspector looking into the death of a young woman. The film looks at tearing down the rich, affluent and privileged in a very gentle way. Its a solid film Alastair sim is great in a non threatening way
November 17, 2025 at 7:41 AM
334. Bad hair - horror comedy about an evil weave that gives you lets the woman wearing it get ahead in work but it has a thirst for blood. It takes the jordan peele slant of horror & pushes it to an almost OTT level yo bring out the comedy. Its got a little shop of horrors vibe

333. Humoresque - romantic drama, a struggling musician starts a romance with a headstrong socialite but theres trouble brewing. Stock by the numbers but whats interesting are the musical interludes. mediocre but Crawford is given glasses as a character trait, silly

332. Elle (2016) - French thriller about a head strong woman who is assaulted and mystery of who while she has a complex troubled life. Great powerful film about cycles of violence and control. As excellent as it is it feels overstuffed and a little long
November 12, 2025 at 7:56 AM
331. Doctor who (1975 season 13) - tom bakers second season as the doctor, things have got darker and more gothic this season. While i enjoy lots of the ideas and themes most of them didn’t grip me as much. A solid season but the relationship with the companion is great
November 11, 2025 at 2:02 PM
330. Patrick still lives - unofficial Italian sequel to the Australian horror about a catatonic man with psychic powers. The film is silly entertaining shlock, so random, bizarre and melodramatic its endlessly entertaining. I think its the most horny a film has ever been, is one worse than this?!
November 11, 2025 at 6:48 AM
329. Falling down - urban thriller about a anti-hero who has a metal break and starts to walk him, he encounters problems of the modern world on the way. Great film, i used to think lowly of director joel Schumacher but this is stylish and has substance. Excellent film.
November 10, 2025 at 2:12 PM
328. The barbarians - the director of cannibal holocaust +cannon films X baby oil = a fun film. A silly sword and sorcery film that starts a pair of identical twins who are always oiled and ready for action. A Conan rip off with a light tone thats better than expected (so just ok at best)
November 10, 2025 at 6:23 AM
327. Possessed - inverted film noir as Joan Crawford falls for a man who doesn’t want her but they stay in each others orbit while they play mind games. Its described as a noir but i don’t feel it is, Joan is the usual manic woman scorned. Really not a fan of this OTT joan

326. Resident evil: apocalypse - The first sequel to the video game adaptation. The film is just a stitched together string of zombie tropes & elements from the games and its very VERY dumb. It’s a stupid film but i still have a soft spot for it, the elements they added not a fan
