Passionate about dogs, cooking, cast iron and life. I try to see the good in everyone without being naive. I taught my children HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
Coastal Georgia south of Savannah. Beautiful, but probably only time it will be seen in my lifetime.

Chili with smoked brisket. Don’t worry. I didn’t save you any. I said it.

Happy New Year! Cleaned up the garage and sticks out of the yard. Now enjoying a small fire on this chilly day.

The morning just hits better when you start out with cast iron.

More than one way to skin a cat. Outsmart it is the first. Autopark now working in the garage.

Rudy got the cast off of his broken leg on Monday. He is happy and loved very much on this Christmas.

My best friend got his cast removed yesterday. So happy for him.

Having been to NOLA many times, I have been lured by her charm and mystery. Today, a tourist’s move in Café Dumond. Took my four-legged buddy with me for a café au lait and some beignets. Delightful.

Waiting for his mom to come back from her business dinner. He loves to travel with us, but doesn’t understand when one of us leaves without him.

How can the plants be so green and temperature so cold? This is so confusing.

Morning coffee is one of those simple joys for me. A nice fire to warm this 30° Coastal Georgia morning just adds to the pleasure.

Have a beautiful day.

I get to see how my buddy’s leg is healing at vet appointment tomorrow morning. I hope he is progressing well. I feel bad for his limited mobility.

Wife’s out of town. Why not? I’ve gotta eat.

The Live Oak is a source of life for many plants and animals. My favorite is the resurrection fern that grows on the tree. It goes dormant during no precipitation and springs to life shortly after a rain.

I’m trying to think about the time I purchased these and thought I would use them. The motivated me definitely forgot to check with reality me.

I have setup a feed for cast iron cooking and cookware. Simply include the words "cast" and "iron" in the post and it will be shown within the feed.

You just can’t beat the relaxation and warmth that $3.095 pays for at Tractor Supply.

Why did I not have a Wet/Dry Vacuum in my garage? I just picked up a 9 gal Craftsman at my local ACE Hardware for $39.99 with coupons. It is normally $99.99!

Came home, assembled and vacuumed out all of the dog hair (Golden Retriever) in a few minutes. WOW!

But, he is so cute.

Thanksgiving Day and the Lantana is still in full bloom. I so love nature.

There is no greater success than seeing your children happy and secure.

That first evening when the temperatures dive into the lower 60's. There are not many things as simple and pleasurable in life as a good fire.

And if you haven't tried wood pellets (fuel not smoker), you are missing out.

When your humans are old, sitting in their club chairs in the living room and enjoying their evening wine and beer, you dream about all of the squirrels and balls you chased today.
