Wise, talented and (foremost) modest search marketing genius, working at The Media Image as Head of SEO.

These days, more Cassandra than consultant.

Will SEO for food.

Purely personal skeeps at @maxbrockbank.com
A guy called Matt Diggity has posted a piece on the Hell site about what link-building means for Agentic search.

When anyone uses the phrase "every rule we learned about" I reach for the exit.

Am I alone in thinking – aside from perhaps the no-follow links point – it's yesterdays news?

A neat way to frame the observed traffic losses put down to AI Overviews.

And to potentially explain why this doesn't necessarily equate to loss of $$$.

Google still has questions to answer, not least how this is affecting its paying customers.

Looking at the #BrightonSEO Skeets from today and how little love they seem to be getting.

Guess the Bluesky SEO community is still a little shy.

Apple using Google AI, not Bing, but pushing privacy.

Interestingly, the platform I'm posting through – Tokimeki – advises "If you use AI to generate ALT text, please keep in mind that the image will be sent to an external server for analysis".

How will the Apple stipulation work then?

You may see this as ChatGPT having "a moment"; however, it's training data ends in 2024!

GEO results definitely need a health warning: "This Data May Be Stale".

Progress?

Google later described this as a "glitch" and said Biden was later restored to his rightful place.

Big G is getting awfully glitchy recently.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be. Those were the days.

This is a long thread from Tumblr of all places, but it made me raise an eyebrow.

Th death (and rebirth) of "exact match" organic search.

Can't help thinking that this sort of shenanigans pushes people further away from Google.

In the rush to implement AI, Google is painting itself into a corner.

The quality of results are declining and that will lead to fewer users. OK, they’re not going anywhere soon but panicked people do stupid things.
