the clever boy nihilists have had free reign of the party for 2 decades and run it and the country into the ground. any good they’ve done has been vastly outdone by the evils they failed to punish and prevent. my bet is regular people who plainly care deeply will do very well in primaries next year

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.
Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.
