I'm not really convinced this would have been a good movie, but I expect it would have had a truly spectacular score by either Jerry Goldsmith or Basil Poledouris.

And almost a decade before Titanic he made The Abyss.

I saw Wake Up Dead Man with a very appreciative audience yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really great film and it was so worth it to see it in a theater.

Daniel Craig seems so much more comfortable and relaxed in this role than he ever was as Bond. I wonder if Blanc is closer to who he really is.

Disneyland actually tends to be really busy on Superbowl Sunday. I suspect way too many assume it won't be.

This is definitely a controversial take, but I think Wendy's has generally better burgers than In-N-Out at a similar price point. Their fries are also awful, but you can substitute a pretty decent baked potato.

Stoppard wrote Empire of the Sun, which Spielberg directed right before Last Crusade, so that rumor is believable. Empire still remains possibly the most sophisticated script Spielberg ever worked with.

Old style Cinemark theater, complete with the checkerboard box-office too!

I don't think they ever confirmed it, but I've always assumed that Spielberg and Mattheson wrote E.T. 2 as a horror movie in order to make sure Universal would give up on making a sequel.

It also needs a bit of work to make it work better with modern controllers. I've done a ton of tweaking in the Mame settings, but never gotten the Atari Star Wars to be all that playable. I did spend a lot of quarters on that game back in the 80s.

This never got much of a wide release, so I didn't get an opportunity to see it in a theater. I remember finding it hysterically funny when I saw it on home video and really wished I'd had the opportunity to see it with an audience.

If Comcast's bid for Warner Bros wins, that would also open up that land to directly include music and other specific references from the 1939 "Wizard of Oz".

I've also noticed that the defenders of the president have started suggesting that those in the military aren't smart enough to recognize an illegal order, which is not likely to play well to the more pro-military part of their base.

I will add that I loved both films, but I also thoroughly enjoyed the stage production.
November 24, 2025 at 5:43 AM
The second film is still based on the Broadway show. The first film was act 1 and the second film is act 2. This results in around double the total running time of the stage production, so the films go into a lot more detail. If you didn't like the show, you probably won't want more of it.

In many cases it works better if you aren't in a major city. Tall buildings tend to block the over the air signals.

I'm really suspicious of the nearly unanimous Republican support, including Trump saying he'd sign it. Tells me that they most likely have a strategy worked out to still suppress the damaging evidence.

My junior high school was torn down and the site is now a movie theater. Which, honestly, is kind of cool...

It also has a fantastic score by Bruce Broughton, which famously caused the scheduling conflict that made him drop out of Home Alone. Both films are probably the better for this.

Why does he think you have control over the store hours for the pants store at the mall?

My wife started having contractions while we were in the theater watching this movie on opening night. Our son was born 2 days later. I guess hearing Looney Tunes made him want to get out into the world. :)

He was probably lucky it wasn't Michelle Yeoh that went after him.

She seems to be unaware (or at least ignoring) that "Jeopardy" is available to stream on Hulu and Peacock now.
