The reaction to the Panorama edit has been nothing short of hysterical. Yes the BBC has some impartiality problems. But its biggest isn't the one you think.

New piece from me.

So, I only noticed today that in the first week of May the sun sets pretty much perfectly in the gap between the early Victorian tenements which line both sides of Argyle Street in the Finnieston area of Glasgow.

THE GODFATHER PART II was released 50 years ago this week. The second entry in Coppola’s gangster trilogy, and widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, the behind the scenes story is a lesson in keeping your friends close, but your enemies closer…

Question for you – what other film would you like to see remade with Muppets, à la The Muppet Christmas Carol? (One role should still be played by a human!)

Reply with your answer, and you might see it in print in our next issue...

It's all a bit 'Windows in the West' today (except, in my case, it's more 'Sojourn in the South').

Avril Paton's 1993 watercolour, of 35 Saltoun Street on the corner of Roxburgh Street in Dowanhill, from her attic flat, in Athole Gardens, has become an icon of the city.

Yesterday's sunrise behind Glasgow University's distinctive Gilbert Scott Building on its Gilmorehill Campus. It's unusual for the sunrise to spread far enough along the horizon for a shot from this angle to be possible.

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN was released 17 years ago this week. One of the most successful movies of the Coen brothers, and acclaimed as one of the great book-to-screen adaptations of the 21st century, missing the story of how it came to be is like losing a Chigurh coin toss…

30 years ago this week we got an insight into the Gallagher sibling rivalry.

Liam describing new song “Talk Tonight” as shit and won’t have it on an Oasis record (it didn’t until April 1995).

Also talk of “Live By The Sea”, which we of course know as “(It’s Good) To Be Free”.
