Pretty sure Viking raids happened after Bede, Lindisfarne was 793 and invasions by Vikings, Danes, and their descendants lasted (notably) until 1066.
I also believe the term “Dark Ages” came from Plutarch in Italy in the 1300s in comparison to the “light” of antiquity
