Help your students to read and understand Shakespeare!

We are biased, but we have the best set of worksheets and lesson plans for teaching iambic pentameter to high school students. We offer a free version and an $8 version, both awesome.

This spring, we will publish a book full of small brave acts. Dozens of federal employees resigned from their jobs rather than carry out policies they felt were illegal or un-American.

They gave up their paychecks. Some gave up their pensions.

We are in quiet awe of these letters.

Genuine graphic design question: Which one of these two fliers handles the Smithsonian logo more elegantly?

WITH the blue "Smithsonian" label
-or-
WITHOUT the blue "Smithsonian" label

Hey Columbia University Press: the event itself looks GREAT, but the web preview graphic looks pixelated AF in the buffer preview. (This is a frequent problem with Buffer preview images. Maybe nix the preview in bsky and just post your own image along with the link?)

Even though you left, you still have agency. We are accepting resignation letters from these and other departments and agencies for possible publication in our upcoming anthology:

Education, State, Smithsonian, National Park Service, FDA, HHS, USDA

We may be publishing a book of federal resignation letters, but we are also an employer. So this is career advice if nothing else:

This Monday is pretty much the last day you can list ICE or CBP on your résumé. Staying into February might make you radioactive for any other roles.

Exactly. The video shows him holding only a cell phone. So he wasn't /brandishing/ the gun. It would be equally true if DHS were to say "A person approached U.S. Border Patrol with a cell phone" or even "A person approached U.S. Border Patrol with a pair of socks."

Writing with an eye to being read—by a crush, by a workshop class, by six-dozen journal subscribers—changes the writing for the better. A writer can't simply dab poet-spackle over a rickety passage of text once the writer becomes conscious of a reader who may one day stumble through.
