Speaker Johnson laid it out clear who this bill belongs to: “As the President said, it’s his bill. It’s not a House bill, it’s not a Senate bill, it’s the American people’s bill.” He’s got it fucked up tho b/c if it’s not a House bill nor a Senate bill then it CANNOT BE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE’S BILL.

Hm welp there goes academic freedom. Here we sit in the middle of authoritarianism - unable to see it with our own eyes.
While I’ll always be a scientist at heart it feels futile and delusional rn to think there is a future in the US for academic research, unless your work aligns with the regime.

“Scientists” are exploiting public health datasets to create slop science. Smh. I hope this doesn’t lead to less access to public datasets.
