Thunderstorms are on their way. I figured this morning was my only chance to visit the beach, so I headed down there at sunrise. These pictures don’t do justice to the impressive size of the thunderclouds or the beautiful lavender and pink hues as the sun rose behind the clouds.

Before this afternoon, there has never been a time when I was ever ashamed to be an American. I’ve voted for both Republicans and Democrats over the years. Sometimes my candidate has won, sometimes not, but never before have I feared for the survival of our democracy.

Cooking in an RV kitchen takes a fair bit of advance planning & prep and some menu compromises, but it’s worth the effort. Gorgonzola potatoes, filet mignon with shallots & mushrooms in a Marsala sauce and grilled Brussels sprouts with a maple glaze.
