Bhakti Marga: the way of love

The bhakti path is beautiful, deep and rewarding. It is devotion to God, the Ultimate or Source and is one of four major yogas. We attempt to rehabilitate the term, exposing abuse and how to discern cults, especially ones that distort the Bhakti path.
Redemptive love is an antidote to so much suffering, and strengthens our integrity.

The Four Yogas, as taught by the great Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) are Bhakti, Karma, Raja and Jnana Yoga. The spiritual aspirant normally finds that one of these yogas is their favorite or is most compelling.

Bhakti marga is traditionally the worship of God, in whatever form that serves you best. It is often the easiest, most enjoyable path to awakening, because everything and everyone can be regarded as God or Divine Mother. Every moment you have the opportunity to love God in another person or thing.

Bhakti in its largest, most universal sense is not the worship of a person, which is risky at best, but the opening of the mind and heart to the Unknown, with receptivity.

“Being spiritual has nothing to do with what you believe and everything to do with your state of consciousness.”

The path of love is open to all people, no matter their spiritual tradition. Bhakti, a Sanskrit word meaning love of Source, belongs to every heart, in every corner and home on the planet. All of us, atheists included, can open our hearts to the Big Picture, no matter what do or don’t call it.
