The Young Pope was such an artistic triumph, I have a hard time believing HBO greenlit it. It modernizes, in some sense, the gonzo-opulence aesthetic of the roman church, by asking the important questions, like "What if the Pope… was hot?" (Answer: "trad-catholicism is ALL intensely erotic.")
