This is the sort of statement that was expected from every university president and law firm partner over the last year. That those statements weren’t made played a huge part in where we are now and people will remember.

Early in his term, Trump declared himself king, ignoring laws passed by Congress and the Constitution. That is not enough for him.

He has now declared himself to be God, with absolute power of life and death over everyone, American and foreigner, with a divine power to dictate reality.

PIERS: “You’re not gay?”
FUENTES: “No. But women are very difficult to be around.”
P: “Should they vote?”
F: “No.”
PIERS: “They should stay home?”
FUENTES: “Yeah.”
PIERS: “So you’re just a misogynistic dinosaur. Have you ever had sex?”
FUENTES: “No.”
PIERS: “Wow. Says the guy who never got laid.”
