While rearranging games recently, I inadvertently discovered I have become a Ticket to Ride collector (sort of, don’t have all of it). Fortunately, I am happy my friend likes it enough that he’ll play it (not pick it). Without that, all of this (and future buys) would be wasted money.

Trickerion: Legends of Illusion - Very good game, but it does take a lot of mental energy to play a session. This is probably only a once a year game for our group (unless I try it solo). Typically I add expansions after one play, but not with this one!

Robinson Crusoe - Finally getting the hang of this game, can see this moving up in my rankings over time with more plays. The scenario we played was ok, felt like just base game with some changes and not thematic. Previous game of Cannibal Island was way better and a lot more thematic.

Robinson Crusoe - Finally getting the hang of this game, can see this moving up in my rankings over time with more plays. The scenario we played was ok, felt like just base game with some changes and not thematic. Previous game of Cannibal Island was way better and a lot more thematic.

My friend made a good point if Office Dog Games is slowly becoming the board game replacement of FFG for Asmodee. They had River of Gold, and now they have Tessen: The Battle for Toshi Ranbo, both set in their L5R universe. FFG might just do card games while Office Dog does board games maybe? 🤷🏽♂️

Tidal Blades: Heroes of the Reef - Only thing going for this game for me is the world building. Otherwise, there are plenty of other games that do what TB does, but those other games do it much better (Yedo, Champions of Midgard). Losing all your dice to a monster fight is debilitating.

Yedo: Deluxe Master Set - This is by far the most underrated game that is in my Top 10. Only drawback of the game for me is that it is still too long. We will never play without the Specialists and Teahouse modules. Hoping to try the co-op “Kill the Shogun” mode later this year.

Day 4 of EBR - One thing I was concerned about the game before playing was the path deck feeling samey because it’s usually the same set of terrain cards. 4 days in, I don’t feel that way yet. In fact it makes the world feel “normal and alive” in a way. This could change, we shall see.

Obsession - Excellent game that is interrupted by its own extremely bad rulebook. We spent a solid 30-40 minutes trying to get answers to rules and having to google them because the rulebook isn’t clear. Close game, and my friend ending up winning it by winning the final courtship.

First game of Earthborne Rangers. What a fantastic and different take on this genre. Other games like this try to beat you down to progress and causes stress, but EBR turns that around to give you a very chill way to experience an optimistic view of the future. Looking forward to more!

Sky Team - Finally won the starter airport after 4 games. Mechanisms are quite thematic, and tension is the best part of the game for me. Very surprised by this one. Rulebook and UI could have used some more refinement. Looking forward to playing through all the scenarios. Good game!

AoS Osaka:Both my friend and I enjoyed this map a lot. The 2p variant of actions from this round being unavailable the following round works very well. Fairly close game. Only ended up winning by 9. With 6 inc. deliveries, you’d think I’d be further ahead, but his 4 inc. could have won!
