As many of these works were temporary or ephemeral, documenting and analyzing them together helped bring into focus and preserve what might be seen as a movement of Sewol art and activism.🎗️

I reflected on my own experiences and observations to explain the operative process of how performative works that represent the Sewol affect viewers. My participation helped me understand the vital moments in these case studies and is key to my interpretation of them.🎗️

Motivated by these events, I set out to document how Korean activist-artists used performance to support Sewol families and survivors, and create a public memory archive that mourns and remembers the victims. 👩🏻‍💻

Then I saw an activist movement emerging among artists, who used performance to process the tragedy, amplify the voices of Sewol families and survivors, and demand accountability.🎗️
