As many of these works were temporary or ephemeral, documenting and analyzing them together helped bring into focus and preserve what might be seen as a movement of Sewol art and activism.🎗️

A. Between 2017 and 2022 in Korea, I conducted research as a participant-observer, joining online and offline events organized by the families and supporters of the victims.🎗️

Motivated by these events, I set out to document how Korean activist-artists used performance to support Sewol families and survivors, and create a public memory archive that mourns and remembers the victims. 👩🏻‍💻
