The Rogue was built to be stronger and larger than the Xenomorph Queen. A creature built to ursurp rather than ruling through hierarchy like the Queens.

In the end, the rogues rage was its downfall, the rival Queen using her superior speed & intelligence to slay the creature and its creator.

Project Chimera was a fundamental success in its initial goals. The Rogue wouldn't attack humans if they didn't pose as a threat, but would go on to kill numerous humans as collateral in its rage against a rival Xenomorph Queen and her hive, seeking out and destroying any Xenomorphs it came across.

Often shortened to just "The Combine," it shares the same ideals as the UPP.

One that shuns corporate dealings and held Socialist ideals to the extreme.

The Combine has its power in the Outer Veil and Frontier of space, where law is still malleable.

GEAR AND TECH: RIFLES ARMAT M41A PULSE RIFLE - Modifier: +2 - Damage: 2 - Range: Medium - Ammo: 95 - Weight: 1 - Cost: $1,200 Special: Armor piercing, full auto, grenade launcher The standard issue weapon of the USCMC, the M41A Pulse Rifle is a 10 mm automatic assault rifle with underslung 30 mm pump-action grenade launcher combined in a sturdy housing with a retractable stock and collapsible scope. The M41A fires explosive-tip caseless standard light armor-piercing US M309 rounds, categorized via electronic pulse. Remaining ammo is tracked automatically via counter and the rifle has two firing modes: burst and fully automatic. For more about the grenade launcher, see the U1 on page xx. F44AA PULSE RIFLE - Modifier: +1 - Damage: 2 - Range: Short/Long - Ammo: 99 - Weight: 1 - Cost: $1,500 Special: Armor piercing, full auto A precursor to the modern M41A that is almost obsolete but can still be found in the hands of smugglers and militias alike. It comes equipped with "aiming assist," where a targeting system adjusts for vibration feedback and provides tactile clicks when chambering minor changes to improve accuracy. It includes a single LED ammo counter on the rifle’s stock. Once the service rifle of the Marines, it was retired for efficiency and subsequently overshadowed by the then-upcoming M56 smart gun. AK-4047 PULSE ASSAULT RIFLE - Modifier: +1 - Damage: 2 - Range: Short/Long - Ammo: 80 - Weight: 1 -Cost: $600 -Special: Armor piercing, full auto The UPP equivalent to the M41A Pulse Rifle, the AK-4047 is a cheap and reliable substitute. As such, the weapon often winds up in the hands of mercenaries and insurgents. While not as accurate as the M41A, the AK-4047 is sturdier than the USCMC weapon.

Finding What’s Hidden: When an enemy enters a zone with a hidden character, no opposed OBSERVATION roll is made. Instead, the enemy must actively search the zone after a stretch by making an OBSERVATION roll. If the roll fails, the hidden character is not detected. Typically, an NPC will only search a zone for one stretch before moving on. If a hidden character is found, draw initiative. DARKNESS In dark zones with very dim lighting, OBSERVATION rolls for humans (and androids) are made with -2. Xenomorphs are not affected. A flashlight will remove the effects of darkness in a zone.

Sealing Access Points: An access point can be specially sealed shut with a cutting torch by making a HEAVY MACHINERY roll (full action, one attempt per stretch if allowed). Not even Xenomorphs can break through a sealed access point, but acid blood will burn through. Crawling foes know how to burn through and create a new access point if the acid is above a foe. Open Zones: Open zones, like rooms, are generally considered open, meaning it’s not possible to hide there (or take cover in combat, see page XX). Detection When you come within line of sight of an NPC in stealth mode, or vice versa, make a passive opposed OBSERVATION roll. This means the roll cannot be pushed, nor trigger stress responses (page XX). The GM will let you know who spots whom without telling you why or what for the NPC. If the NPC wins the roll, they spot the intruder first and act according to their nature (see page XX), usually by attacking. If the PCs lose, hide in the zone (page XX), or back out and leave the zone the way they came. Keeping Guard: If a person remains stationary in a zone for a stretch and chooses to keep guard, they get a +2 dice to OBSERVATION rolls to spot anything coming within line of sight. Groups in Stealth Mode When several characters moving as a group come into line of sight of another character (or group), all characters in each group get to roll OBSERVATION. Only the best roll on each side counts. For a group of NPCs with different stats, the GM will typically make just a single roll for the whole group and apply the result to the whole group, to keep things simple. Hiding A character can hide in a cluttered zone (but not in an open zone). To hide takes a whole stretch and thus cannot be combined with movement or searching the zone for items. While hidden, a passive OBSERVATION roll is required to spot them (see Detection). In this specific case only, hiding is “free.” It means can also be hidden in one zone.

STEALTH SEQUENCE 1. PCS move one zone. If they come within line of sight of an NPC, make a passive opposed OBSERVATION roll. For a group, the highest roll counts. If a side wins, they can: -Flee/evade the enemy. -Ambush the enemy. -Hide in the zone. -Back out the way they came. - If it’s a tie, draw initiative. 2. NPCs move one zone on the GM’s hidden map. Xenomorphs move one zone per point of Speed. If they come into line of sight of a PC, make an immediate passive opposed OBSERVATION roll. 3. A new stretch begins. The PCs act first, then the NPCs, as per steps #1 and #2 above. Simplified Stealth Mode Managing NPC movement secretly by the GM in stealth mode is a great way to create real tension at the table, a true game of cat and mouse—or rather, a game of human and terrifying xeno—or morph. However, to ease rules-learning table space or virtual tabletop support, and not stall your group in the process, this system can be simplified to only have the PCs move according to the stealth mode rules, while NPCs (and motion tracker pings) simply appear when and where the GM so chooses. Hidden Map: To manage NPC movement, we recommend that the GM has a second copy of the map hidden from view by the GM Screen. On this map, the GM can place tokens to represent NPCs, hidden from the players’ view. (GM maps for this purpose are included in official releases.) If the GM doesn’t have access to a screen, they can track hidden NPC movement on a piece of paper. Crawlspaces Air shafts and other crawlspaces are a common feature in ALIEN adventures and present a unique challenge in stealth mode. Crawlspaces allow characters to move around corridors, above them or underneath them in which case just the outline is shown on official adventure maps. Access Points: A crawlspace can be entered by one zone’s worth of movement at any access point marked on the map, just like entering any other zone.

She’s now rigged to do belt-up, Yx-13 refinery module the company wants hauled to the Solomons. It's a thin run with our pay, but it's better than heading to Thedus anyway: we haul a lot. Most of my crew on this run are irregulars — Jeffries is flying, Nat and Reed are my two regulars. We picked up some roughnecks and field engineers along the way. Nat and Reed are fighting again. The only newbie is Hayes, a medic on loan to us from Captain Hughes. This is a frontier of unimaginable wealth, opportunity, and potential that is incredibly brutal. In many of the colonies, the air is not even remotely breathable. The majority of colonists die horrible deaths on alien worlds, some from harsh conditions, others from local fauna and flora. The land devours its workers, and the payoff is small. Space is a thing of sacrifice, hardship, and struggle. Neighboring colonies didn’t always get along, and armed conflicts broke out between colonists and corporate interests all the time. As Weyland-Yutani and other major corporate entities continue to expand and dominate the frontier, colonists live in constant fear of being consumed by the corporations and their designs for exploitation. Territories Of The Frontier The frontier, dominated by the United Americas, is administrated by several nation-states. An unequal dynamic exists between them, yet territories of these governments adhere to a form of loose federal structure where government players vie slyly for resources there. Three World Empire: Consisting of the former United Kingdom, Japan, and several states of East Asia, the Weyland-Yutani corporation itself is a result of the formation of the Three World Empire. Despite increasing friction between the United Americas and Japanese Yutani Corporation, The Three World Empire continues to grow in strength across many long-haul space routes. Colonial Marine forces maintain a presence on the frontier—allowing Weyland-Yutani to take the lead there. Of course, we've got problems already - this time it's the goddamned kid, frell-damned drunk again. Nat punched him in the face - may have even broken his nose.
