"Walkers car park"
Ironic?
Due to NSL speeds + forbidding state of the A24 to anyone on foot/wheels/cycling? @kneppwilding.bsky.social
Will there soon be a "cyclists car park"?
(Lack of apostrophe noted!)
👉See WSCC's A24 consultation
Closes Mon 27th Oct!

Disappointing re parking on the new #NCN20 A23 cycle lanes/pavement because the addresses have forecourts where ppl can park without obstructing #walking #wheeling #cycling every day!
Photos from 3 recent days.
Also partly a red route.

Any enforcement?

Use of signs is getting completely out of control!
They don't even make sense @brighton-hove.gov.uk

Has anyone seen a news report or have any info about the crash at #Falmer? Right next to #RR90 Regional Route 90 between Brighton and Lewes? Solid wall demolished, lots of car debris. Vehicle(s) must have crossed the shared path.
Pics from 20th May.

Been to #Chichester today to see the new roundabout! Everything proceeding smoothly. Looks good.
One driver seems not to have noticed the new arrangement and left their large black vehicle intruding into the cycle lane.

I am astounded (again) at the extent to which we tolerate damage by drivers of motor vehicles.
Here, turning tactiles into crazy paving! 🚚🛻🚛
Using the space as a loading bay every day.

The contents of these collection bins always get pulled out.
This one is on Preston Road near Knoyle Road.
If they can't be supervised, I think it's best they go. @timrowkins.bsky.social @brighton-hove.gov.uk

It's always disappointing when you see one part of the council mucking up the work of another. #Brighton #ActiveTravel

Don't you get fed up keep reporting obvious daft things like this? @brighton-hove.gov.uk #Brighton #A23 #NCN20 @sustrans.bsky.social @cyclinguk.bsky.social @canseengland.bsky.social Cycle facilities aren't a bit of spare space for road signs.

This was a good webinar with Chief Constable Jo Shiner, the National Police Chiefs' Council lead for roads policing on the panel. Also @lauralaker.bsky.social RoadPeace and others. Sponsored by Slater Gordon. #RoadJustice #RoadDanger

The County Councils can even postpone elections to do this! Convenient for those heading for defeat!

A happy pre-Christmas celebration on Preston Rd #Brighton as thanks to @brighton-hove.gov.uk & contractors for work on the A23 #ActiveTravel scheme Phase 1.
Cllr. Muten @trevmu10.bsky.social, lead on transport was there.

Well done everyone! Onwards & northwards! 🚴‍♀️🧑‍🦽🤸‍♂️

Opposite our back gate for weeks. Our road in #Brighton is a popular place to leave large items of private property for free, despite it being a 2-way bus route! Hence, also a lot of pavement driving!

Contractors unnecessarily cone off a useable cycle lane on #NCN20, A23 southbound to #Brighton.
Who wants to merge with lorries? Obstructions at several points both north & southbound today.
Constant roadworks.

Sorry John Prescott died. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
He *almost* got us real road traffic reduction! But the act got diluted. Time to give it some teeth and require #TrafficReduction from authorities continuing their destructive & unhealthy "predict & provide" policies? @rogergeffen.bsky.social

A smart upgrade of #NCN20 in #Brighton is just down the road from me!
We now have priority at a side road 👏👏👏, collision/conflict hotspot (Dyke Rd Drive).
Drivers just need to absorb this information & adjust their cross-cutting east-west movements over our N-S route. @brightonhovecc.bsky.social

#Lewes in East Sussex doesn't reduce the day to day motor traffic on the High Street.
This is a big disincentive and inconvenience for #ActiveTravel and results in a lack of space to do it, as well as vehicle emissions, risk of collisions etc.
November 8, 2024 at 4:15 PM
Not ideal is it? Buses are great, but being this close is going to put people off cycling.
It's often better than being in the proximity of other vehicles, though. On the Lewes Road eastbound, A270, #Brighton

Pumpkin season! Time for a juggernaut to deliver 5000 to Preston Park #Brighton so you can "pick" i.e. choose your own!
Not worse than a supermarket purchase though? And better than #Halloween plastic junk.
But lacking the full natural connection (stalk? roots?).
Curious to see the patch!

Today's the anniversary of the #Lewes flood in 2000. Bad news for our house in Cliffe! 1 metre of the Ouse river downstairs. Told to leave by the police.
Later given a mop, care of Lewes District Council! It finally broke a few days ago. Brought back memories.

We were enjoying this snack in my favourite #Brighton café, Simit Palace, Western Rd when a toddler got his fingers stuck in a half open door! What to do? Open it/close it?!! Much screaming & alarm!
Eventually fingers out, still attached. Phew. Enormous relief.
How quickly everything can change!
