The comparison is bizarre and offensive and I will consequently be tapping out of this conversation.

Trans people coming out in the face of discrimination and marginalization including, frequently, alienation from family support structures, is not, in fact, at all like leveraging one’s parent’s position and privilege to get a high profile political position despite one’s youth and inexperience.

A) He’s a 23 year old nepo baby, b) the “unpopular opinions” he’s talking about are trans rights, protecting immigrants etc. - things that people here care a great deal about - and c) there’s little evidence that abandoning principle and making cultural concessions to fascists is actually effective.
