That people who don't support needle exchanges, or free Narcan, or help for drug addicts in general, are suddenly willing to shoulder higher prices to help stem the flow of fentanyl is kinda shocking, but so so heartening.

If "AI is to writing as a calculator is to math," we're doomed. My students are shocked when their grade drops when they fail an exam worth 25% of the final grade. They have no understanding of what 25% means, even if they can get a calculator to calculate it. They can press buttons, but can't think

Is to say, "I can't affect what my Republican Senator does, so I'll go on Bluesky and whine that THEY'LL all comply in advance," when they have ALREADY rejected 2 nominees and forced FBI Background checks at least in some cases.

Last week, after a day of walking and biking the opulence of Versailles and still feeling like I hadn’t seen half of it, I marveled to a friend, “Imagine believing you deserve all of this. And that others deserve to suffer so you can have it.” I guess not much has changed.
