folks with long-COVID: how did you receive your diagnosis? whenever i mention my symptom to doctors they're just like… *shrug* "there's nothing we can really do." like they acknowledge long-COVID exists & that my symptoms fit, but they won't document it or provide any resources. what do i do?

i notice this norm resonate beyond journalism, at every scale under dominating colonial culture. in interpersonal relationships, for example, those who risk articulating a conflict tend to be blamed for the conflict's existence.
Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

i'm by myself today. took a lovely walk around the neighborhood, then, while i made soup, i tuned in to the live stream of the indigenous-led National Day of Mourning. chants, speeches, songs, prayers, & rituals moved me, even from afar. i hope to go irl next year. death to all settler colonies!
