There is a postmodern ability to laugh at the silliness of fascist tendencies in Portland, OR. It’s kryptonite to the self-seriousness of authoritarians. Our police bureau lives here. They don’t like how the feds are trying to create a violent event and are lying about the reality on the ground.

I get why you would guess that but ICE is shitting on the authority of local police. In Portland, they are doing a good job of showing the stupidity and highlighting illegal overreach. New mayor. New Police Chief.

I never realized there was such a disconnection between our federal electeds repping the state and state elected. Our state and local gov in Oregon is the front line. We are the first city where the police, governor, mayor and National Guard are unified to protect *against* ICE.
