I adopted a senior dog, gray, deaf, half-blind, with a sad past.
So he could have a home & feel loved at #last.
The 13-year-old learned a lot, like ASL & fetching sticks.
Yes, old dogs *CAN* be taught new tricks!
His final years, the lil affenpinscher had a blast…

MY GOOD BOYS
My good boys Bobo – a mix of different setters –
and Snappy – a chihuahua – were love bugs, not attackers.
Not even the same breed, but brothers
from totally different mothers.
Not really family. So what? As if that even #mätters

My own chihuahua was a natural alert dog, not even trained. The little minion would growl (gremlin mode) & scratch at night, til I woke & ate something (sharing a little treat). 1st I thought that was the reason. But he never did it when my levels weren't low.

My cat, Bella, always liked 2 B single
but my dogs liked 2 B social & wanted 2 mingle.
Bella took up their #language, barks & whining.
She spoke Human & Birdish, chirped with impeccable timing.

Pip, the Chihuahua, in my bed? Doesn’t even make me flinch.
But… when I try to move him, Pip wouldn't give an inch.
The mini pup can make himself heavy as a Great Dane
or a St Bernard. WTF? How…? It hurts my brain.
Each night we wrestle for space, ending up in a loving clinch.

the keepers of my happiness & my mental health,
were my goats, Lucy & #Brownie,

me, with its cute face, wäving with one arm.
The giraffe, fishing for compliments, said, "What the heck?
What about my long lashes, my elegant neck?"
I told them both they're awesome. It couldn't do any harm.
