I loved seeing this in person as a wedding anniversary present from my wife. I was in tears for much of it as I felt the music and remembered how my siblings would sing around the piano with my mom.

I think I really only know 2 songs from them: Sleep and When You Thought You'd Never Stand Out. Did you have any other favorites for someone who wants to get into this band?

And to be fair, I confessed to my pastor that I didn't want to pray for the oppressors; but if I did pray, it would be for three shots to their faces. So when I say I struggle, I mean I get your sentiment pretty well. I'm just not sure if God's justice looks like that.

I struggle with this. I want vengeance. I think God wants us to desire justice. I don't know how to pray for violent people in power anymore. But I am confident of how we should treat the broken, imprisoned, those cast aside. I am hoping to see Jesus there somehow.

I really appreciate your work. I have left most of the Piper-adjacent theology and discipleship behind. It just seemed increasingly incompatible with the example of Jesus.
May we all find Him when we welcome the broken and the least of these.

Please remember that Hamas does not equal Palestinians, and most inhabitants of Gaza that last voted for anything to do with Hamas are dead. The person with considerable influence on the rise of Hamas in Gaza is Israel's own PM, war criminal Bibi. Israel's loss has been paid back 100 fold.

It bummed me out about this specific instance of the artists' endorsement of empire, but it helped me get another view: that it has been happening for some time.
