That thing where you mobilize your entire family, their gear, and their emotions to beach.

You get everything set up. The kids are playing. You pop a beverage and sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labor - a nice relaxing day by the water.

Then…this guy sets up right next to you.

‘No tax on tips' is more slogan than substance.

According to the Yale Budget Lab, almost 40% of tipped workers already pay zero federal income tax...before tax credits. That means the majority already pay zero federal income tax.

And while the shrinking middle class is a point of concern (a concern I'm not convinced is addressed by reshoring manufacturing jobs), of those that exit the middle class, more Americans move up than down.

And those who move up experience exponential income growth.
May 3, 2025 at 3:43 PM
I suppose the argument is declining *middle class* jobs. And manufacturing jobs check that box like they did in the 1950's.

But the relative income of manufacturing jobs has been generally declining domestically & globally due to robotics & automation, so it's a poor choice to bring home.

MAGA wants to bring manufacturing jobs back to America - even if a recession is required to accomplish the goal.

Meanwhile, the unemployment rate is currently at the lowest point in nearly 100 years, sans a World War.

(Note the highest points are all recessions.)

Seems like a good day to wear this shirt.

Reminder - 40% of Americans pay NO Federal income tax. That isn't a Trump thing. That has been true for years.

"No taxes under $100k" is mostly a slogan.

Already, 15% of folks making between $75k-$100k pay no income taxes.

When we fund tax breaks with tariffs, that 40% loses & the other 60% wins.

In an effort to lower prescription drug prices, the Trump administration is encouraging importing lower cost drugs from Canada.

I wonder if there are other import opportunities that would help lower prices for Americans.🤔

Great article. And 10 bonus points for the Occam’s Razor reference.

Monday futures look even worse than Thursday & Friday. 📉

I sure hope Donnie does well in his rigged golf tournament this weekend.

If you were hoping for a rebound on Monday, I have bad news for you. Futures are even worse than Friday, which was worse than Thursday.
