I am currently listening to 2 audiobooks that are over 30 hours long, but I think I've read every book that is going to make it into my 2025 Top 10 for the year. Currently sitting at 134 total (but with 12 days left, who knows where I'll finish). In no particular order:

September books!

Favorite fiction: The Compound

On deck for October: all 45 hours of the Mark Twain (Chernow) biography - which is why this update is so late.

Today was my last day in the office (because I'm a saint and gave 3 months notice). I also agreed to go on contract for a few months to help close out year end financials (show me the $$$). Almost 23 years at this company, and my boss forgot it was my last day. Yeah. That tracks.

And the only thing that makes me happier than my PBS donation is the extra donation I make at my local Planned Parenthood during my annual appointment. ✔️I'm on a roll!

I got my new insurance card in the mail over the weekend, and I had a real moment. There are lots of reasons why I didn't leave my former employment sooner, and it gave me a pre-ACA flashback of the main reason why I stayed. So grateful for health insurance.

Today is my first day of alternate employment. I received a text from one of the interns with a question *one hour* into the workday.

My father keeps insisting I should reach out to my boss' parents, who are friends of my father, to tell them I quit. Am I the only one who thinks that is weird as hell? (I also work with my boss' sister, and her face told me everything).
