People contain multitudes. I can be excited for CU's 5 drafted players and support protesters at the local Tesla. I can read the news with dismay and escape into fictional worlds of my own making. I can enjoy dinner on a lake at a Mexican restaurant and worry about who ICE has left in the kitchen.

As usual like any book at this stage has a lot of work yet but the bones are there. I started this in lockdown. A LOT has happened since then (sickness, two fires, fascists, and fascists again) but I'm a bit fatalistic. It is a book of its time.
It's called The Relic of Portheugh.
