Disingenuous. According to @NREL, for an 8kW residential system in the U.S., customer acquisition averages about $3,400 per customer, and profit margins average 16%—around $3,500-- hat’s nearly $7,000 out of a $21,000 system cost, whereas permitting and inspection costs total a mere $800.

The U.S. is still way behind Germany in apprentices per capita, but this growth is real. There are ever expanding education and training pathways to a good career that won’t put you in debt.
