Cutting transit and disproportionately taxing EVs won't fix the Highway Trust Fund. We’re in this mess because Congress chose to take money from all taxpayers to prop up a highway program that is failing to deliver on safety, state of repair, and mobility.

Eliminating federal transit spending leaves a $194B gap in highway funding by 2035, and would increase costs of living and hurt smaller communities.

Maybe it can finally kill the business-as-usual bipartisan approach to reauthorization.

1. Funds were not always used effectively.
2. The law did not always result in less funding for polluting projects.
3. Many IIJA programs reinforced existing inequities by rewarding jurisdictions with greater preexisting resources.

The use of e-bikes has grown rapidly in recent years, with sales skyrocketing to over 1.1 million in 2022. This positive trend shows that e-bikes are shifting people out of vehicles for everyday needs.

However, an increase in crashes is sparking discussion about increased regulation.
