Nerdy mum who’d rather read than run. Humanist speaker. Death cleric level 7 (thanks for asking).
Excited to be at the STEM Learning UK National Primary Science Conference!
I’ll be running a workshop demoing our Evoscope study with Milner Centre for Evolution (University of Bath) and chatting to teachers about getting involved.

Very much recommend giving this a watch. Turi’s work is always of the highest standard.
The news is out! Really nice piece by Jack Blackburn of @Times about the genetic study been leading into Hitler’s DNA. It’s been a massive group effort as part of a documentary with the team Blink Films & a huge number of experts! We have to put the caveats in and the article does that nicely.

🧫 🔬 I’m excited to be running free Evoscope demos at the Winchester Science Centre Home Education Day on 5th December!

Can’t wait to meet home-educating families and explore how evolution unfolds in real time through hands-on experiments.

For years I pondered how to make a game about evolution, and my answer is Clades. Players match animals according to their positions on the evolutionary tree of life. Everyone plays at once so it’s fast. FWIW, I get royalties on this one. Kids love animals! #evolution

This is going to be an excellent talk. Can’t wait.
We're so, so excited to be having @chrisgpackham.bsky.social come visit us and give a public talk. Chris is one of the foremost science communicators in the country and his work has so many synergies with our aims. It promises to be a really engaging evening! 🤩

UK friends! Please fill out this government form to have your say on science education. Evolution is fundamental to biology but remains a footnote in the curriculum. We need to raise its profile and push for biology to be valued as highly as chemistry and physics. forms.office.com/pages/respon...

Err obviously it’s Costasiella kuroshimae!

It's undeniably cute, but its incredible adaptations make it even more fascinating. Perfect for engaging children in lessons. I absolutely love it!

Yes I’m in my 40’s and have a cuddly version. Don’t judge.
