Had a great day at the Southend community market at Iroquois Park. A floral fundraiser for my friend Donald to help fund his rebuild on his tiny house that burned earlier this year. Fun putting flowers I grew on the market.

Too much rain for gardening this weekend, but I was able to get a flat of gorgeous Kentucky strawberries. Strawberry rhubarb pie ended up needing to be made— along with putting up all of the rest of the strawberries in the freezer.
Finished strawberry rhubarb pie just out of the oven Strawberries and rhubarb just mixed with sugar and put into the pie crust. Flat of Kentucky strawberries.

I don’t remember when it started honestly— but on holidays I make dessert for @princesscoley.bsky.social’s family. The ENTIRE family has the best palates and I get so much joy doing it. This year, with all that is happening that is decidedly un-Christ-like, it felt even more important 1/2

Zuzu will be 26 weeks this Tuesday, and she is outgrowing her favorite chair. Supposedly- this Great Pyrenees/German Shepherd can double her weight still. My big gal. ❤️

Toasting Senator Cory Booker this morning filibustering the senate going into his 13th hour. He has read letters from Americans who are terrified about losing healthcare, lost jobs, and pulled no punches about the disappearing of people to El Salvador with no due process.

I've already shared this quote, but I am going to share it again: "Deescalate all conflict that isn't with the enemy." - Margaret Killjoy This is not about what anyone has a right to feel. I feel a lot of things. I make space for my feelings. I don't have to express them with abandon in all contexts. This is similar to how collective action is not about what you have a right to expect, but what you can actually organize people to do. What do you want to see happen? Are your actions (including what you vent emotionally and where you are venting it) getting you closer to that outcome? If not, reevaluate. Some people are not invested in collective survival. They are invested in self-expression, self-righteousness, and who or what they believe themselves to be. Such people can be prone to behaviors I would characterize as disorganizing. I have absolutely no time for that shit right now.
