Your wish is my command. Here's Daniel Tiger. Also, I think I've told you this before, but you may have the cutest dog ever.

I guess I should admit I have a new hobby, because I just finished my second quilt top. I plan to quilt and bind it tomorrow. This one is more complicated than the first one and I love it even more. I'm including a photo of my first quilt since I'm not sure I shared it here. Both were made as gifts.

MITFORD w/murder
Pastor Annie took her dream job at a tiny island church to help people, not hurt them. But when a man dies in her office, she's accused of poisoning him. If she doesn't find the real culprit, she'll be preaching her next sermon series in jail.

Thinking about trying my hand at a thriller next.

Happy Saint Lucia Day! My first ever published story, 20 years ago, was Saint Lucia Day inspired. My lovely mother in law framed it for me.

When a parishioner dies in a new pastor's office her first week, she's accused of his murder. She needs to find the real killer soon, or she'll be preaching her next sermon series from jail.

Annie's favorite holiday tradition is lighting the Advent candles with her daughter.

The first night the tree is lit is always magical.

I just finished my first quilt, a Christmas gift for a friend. It has a lot of imperfections and would not win any prizes, but I'm proud of my work.

My fifth baby manuscript has now toddled her way into the query trenches. Here's hoping an agent will fall in love with my quirky, murdery, very queer baby with lots of heart and floofy sidekicks and she won't be beat to a bloody pulp in the trenches the way all her siblings were.

Daniel Tiger likes to sit on the arm of my chair while I write. Sometimes he puts his paw on my arm, to remind me that I belong to him.

The first snow managed to come this year before I cleared my garden for the winter. That's new. Here's hoping it portends a snowy winter.

My co-teacher had the kids fill a cornucopia today and then we did a cornucopia art project. It was super fun! Working with a retired elementary teacher is the best because she has all the cool stuff.

I'm building my follower count, so I guess it's time for a new intro. Hi, I'm Beth. I'm an unpublished writer and a preschool teacher. I mostly post about:

1. Books and writing
2. My cats
3. Teaching preschoolers
4. My progressive-ish post-evangelical Christian faith
5. Other random stuff

We made hand turkeys in preschool today.

Me to 2yo: Look at the beautiful turkey you made!

2yo: No, Ms. Beth, that's a hand.

Still probably my favorite art project of the year.

Since it looks like the other app might actually be dying this time, I'm going to try to start taking this account seriously. Hi #writers and #readers. I wrote #kidlit for years with no success and I'm almost ready to launch my cozy mystery into the query trenches.

I'm looking at you, #kidlit fam.

After a long dry spell due to a lot of feelings about the lack of agent interest in my other books, I've started a new project and I'm pretty excited about it. Maybe this spooky but full of heart wintry ghost story will be the one that lights the world on fire.

It's Banned Books Week. As you're aware unless you're living under a rock, book banning is way up in the U.S.. Pictured is a collection of some of the books in my house that have been banned or easily could be. As you advocate for books, remember to focus on the ones being banned right now.

You can keep your $$$$ Eras Tour tickets. The Piano Guys may be the best concert I've ever seen. I knew their music was incredible, but what blew me away was their stage presence. In a sold out theater, they made you feel like you were at an intimate gathering of friends. All the stars.

Current status: waiting for The Piano Guys to come onstage. If you don't know them, look them up on YouTube. They're amazing, and a large part of what inspired my 12yo to play cello.

This house was once loved by my own littles, but it languished in the yard after they outgrew it. My husband power washed it, dried it out, and today he installed it in the preschool playroom where many more littles can enjoy it for years to come.

I guess maybe I should make my first post? Reluctantly checking this place out due to the supposed imminent death of the former bird app. Hoping this is better than the other alternatives. I teach tiny kids, parent almost grown kids, and write books for kids between those extremes. Also I love cats.
