For the record, she is currently getting the same reception all her siblings got: One full request that ends in a pass and lots of rejections. But it's still early days. At least that's what I tell myself as I scream into the void.
My fifth baby manuscript has now toddled her way into the query trenches. Here's hoping an agent will fall in love with my quirky, murdery, very queer baby with lots of heart and floofy sidekicks and she won't be beat to a bloody pulp in the trenches the way all her siblings were.

You know how a lot of K-12 teachers won't touch middle school with a ten foot pole? I've come to the conclusion that 2yo's are the middle schoolers of the preschool world. And I adore them. I also once wanted to teach middle school, so it tracks that I'm weird. 2yo's are the best.

I guess I should admit I have a new hobby, because I just finished my second quilt top. I plan to quilt and bind it tomorrow. This one is more complicated than the first one and I love it even more. I'm including a photo of my first quilt since I'm not sure I shared it here. Both were made as gifts.

With all the chaos in the world right now, I searched my heart and decided to work on a book idea that would bring me joy. It's still mostly vibes, but it's a fantasy that will feature an immortal witch, fuzzy colorful dragons that know which book you need to read, and magical tea.

Happy Saint Lucia Day! My first ever published story, 20 years ago, was Saint Lucia Day inspired. My lovely mother in law framed it for me.

And I already have one full request! This is far and away the soonest I've ever gotten a request. Hopefully it's a sign that this baby's journey will be different.

The first snow managed to come this year before I cleared my garden for the winter. That's new. Here's hoping it portends a snowy winter.

My co-teacher had the kids fill a cornucopia today and then we did a cornucopia art project. It was super fun! Working with a retired elementary teacher is the best because she has all the cool stuff.
