yep, they have tons of reasons for a denial. you can appeal. it doesn’t have to be fancy, just needs to include your original request, the file number, the denial letter, and your reason why you think they’re wrong. there’s a foia wiki and it has tons of helpful info. dm on twitter for help (same @)

sorry i’m late to the party. my experience with miami dade is if you ask them for a breakdown of costs you will see they’re double billing some stuff and you can get some money knocked down and then ask to narrow it a little to knock more $ off.
