A good pairing of riparian books for our season of atmospheric rivers here in California: @robgmacfarlane.bsky.social's 'Is a River Alive' and James C. Scott's posthumously published 'In Praise of Floods'.

Delights of real life. A cardinal visits our yard and a young rabbit who was saved from his siblings’ fate when he was born just before the first cold snap. He’s been rehabbed and released (with snacks and oversight). Our neighbors call him Chance. ✨

Just one of so many things to love about this from @charliejane.bsky.social via @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social

On echo chambers/preaching to the choir, cont'd: @charliejane.bsky.social: "But another huge reason I love community is because it helps us build a consensus reality, something that is sometimes dismissed as "filter bubbles" but is actually a powerful form of organizing and rallying."
