Word of the Day is ‘bayard’ (16th century): one who has the supreme self-confidence of ignorance.

For the love of all that is good in this world do NOT buy books from Amazon. Cancel your Amazon accounts.
Go to the Library (in person or online ebooks!) and support local bookstores instead. Please #BookSky don’t be ambivalent

The most frustrating thing about continuing failure to skewer Farage is that his grasp of detail is non-existent. It’s why he gets petulant when exposed to even mildly decent questions. Interviewers just need to zone in on one element of the bullshit & interrogate it until his ignorance is exposed.
Farage on #r4today decrying the increase in costs & red tape since Brexit & calling for Brexit to be “done properly”.
No longer part of the customs union/single market -both of which simplified bureacracy- the costs & red tape on trade have ofc ballooned.
Why was this not put to him directly?

This is making me so sad. He had been my favourite writer for such a long time. Really having to rethink a lot today
This is a story that won’t cheer up anyone and I feel sad for those fans who believed in Gaiman so much - deeply disturbing for many people - a horrible abuse of fans and of power

Cannot praise the NHS highly enough.
Spent about 3 hours in A&E today, cos the Boy Wonder fell off a climbing wall & broke his shoulder.
The triage nurse took one look at him, saw how much pain he was in & made sure he was sped through as much as poss.
Home in less than 4 hours.
All staff lovely

Some arty, wintry pics I took in and around Urmston the last few days. It's been looking stunning, but been good to get back inside quickly!
