I don't watch a lot of anime aside from a handful, so I actually have no idea who these other characters are, but even a non-weeb like myself can tell they're from different shows.

Unfortunately, people will hang on to biased cultural nostalgia, especially when there isn't anything to replace it with. Like there's The Books of Magic comics that she ripped off, but the author to that is also a monster, and LWA didn't have the world building to be as popular as My Hero Academia.
