Except Le Pen is the only one who is being barred from an upcoming election that the polls said she had a good chance in. No fan of hers, but it's easy to see how the RN can lean into a persecution narrative.

I saw someone post a while ago that it can't be fair that they had to be the ones to help their parents AND their children to work the printer and set up the wifi & honestly, that hit home for me!

The default tailoring option for off the peg stuff seems to be 'slim fit'. Sometimes they don't even specify as it is the default. Caught me out a couple of times.

Lack of hassle factor. I can manage my family, easily manage my mum's devices, shared photo albums, everything just works by and large. Got sick of the cost a few years ago & went to Android. Gave it a go for 2 years, but moved back,. Everything was just that bit harder & my family HATED it.

Sure. It is very different. But it started somewhere. I guess there's always a line somewhere, where everyone would provide footage to the authorities. For me, tho, it's a very high bar.

Guess we'll have to differ on that then. I spent time in Berlin just after the wall came down. Tales of neighbours reporting on each other were all too raw & had a big impact on me. Never been a fan ever since.

I get that. And tend to agree. And I'm sorry about your mate. But I'm generally not a fan of the 'reporting' culture we seem to be developing in this country. Plus, I mean your EV could literally explode at any second so, y'know, you're being dangerous as well 🤣

Well, I don't think I was being disrespectful, but X definitely brings out the worst in people from all sides. I'm not totally sure blocking was the way forward, but your account, your right I suppose. I'm still going to say when I disagree with you, just for the record 😜

Fundamentally I think the difference is that here, you can tell someone you think they're talking bollocks and not get called a 'far left (or right) traitorous c***. Which is entirely as it should be really. Hopefully that more grown up level of discourse will hold.

Sure. But to get there, you need to win, in the system you already have. And then convince the winner that things need to change. B/c why would they change things? They've just won! Hence why Starmer won't move to some form of PR. Claiming moral victory is really poor consolation...

Small point, but there's a difference between tax evasion (illegal) and tax avoidance (legal). I'm pretty sure Clarkson has been avoiding, not evading.
