What did legislators include in the outline? -Operations and maintenance -Live-saving safety programs -Public transit, including Youth Pass and rural transit -Commuter rail projects -2017 megaprojects -Road Usage Charge WHAT ARE WE EXCITED ABOUT? -It supports many ways to get around, which means Oregonians have more freedom to choose. -Legislators name access to public transit and passenger rail as values. -They named essential and popular safety programs Safe Routes to School, Great Streets, and Oregon Community Paths. -Sustainably funding maintenance and preservation of our roads. WHAT DO WE WANT TO SEE? -The funding in the package must match the outline’s stated wish to expand public and active transportation programs. -It should include critical climate programs to reduce climate and air pollution from vehicles, and to increase access to chargers for homes and businesses.
