Gene Strand Bias histogram for eubacteria and #archaea Eubacteria have clear replication forks. Genes prefer to huddle on the leading copying strand. Either they prefer that or they prefer that A LOT it appears. Archaea don't really. Data via skewdb.org (my project). /cc @ceesdekker.bsky.social

You get this notice when accessing the NCBI genome server. It always appeared needlessly scary to me, but this warning is starting to look ominous. Also, may have to learn to find the European equivalent server if we have one...

Earlier I reported that Galileo lost one of their oldest satellites, as the official notice when it went offline looked rather final. However, satellite E12/GSAT0102 is showing signs of life again (galmon.eu observes it) & they state it should be back tomorrow: www.gsc-europa.eu/notice-advis...
