In the two days we had the minis in stock I'd say a full half of what we sold was to Japanese tourists. Super cool, but extremely weird to me for a grocery chain that's competing with Grocery Outlet and is a step or two up from Dollar Tree.

I work at a TJs, and yes they are real, but also too small to be practical. The bottom of the minitotes are a little smaller than the width of a box of saltines. The wildest part of this is the amount of Japanese families that seem to plan trips to the US around the release of these bags.
